About Me

Hello! My name is Makenna Judy, welcome to my portfolio. Here you’ll get to sample some of my designs and writing.
I am a design and writing alumni from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I’ve had a passion for art ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil. My parents happily indulged me and signed me up for any and every summer art camp. Over the years, I have grown my art skills to range across a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, and digital art. I also have experience using a variety of digital art software including Adobe Creative Suite and Maya.
I design a variety of work from logos, business advertisements, info graphics, and marketing materials to character design, 2D and 3D animations, and abstract works of art. While I work on both sides of the graphics spectrum, I have a love of 2D design. My best animation work includes a mix of different 2D styles, all combined using Adobe AfterEffects.
I have worked with small businesses to create brand identities from the ground up, giving them the materials they need to be successful when marketing their business. I have also worked for larger retail corporations to provide marketing materials that resonate with target audiences and lead to direct sales increase. Some of the design spheres I’ve worked with include sports, grocery, pharmacy, retail, and craft marketing.
My love of traveling has helped influence my designs. While traveling, I kept blog to help improve my writing skills and show off my photography. I am skilled in editing photos and shooting images on a DSLR digital camera. While my skills with the camera usually shows in landscape photography, I am knowledgeable in portrait work as well as product shoots.
As a writer I am versed in all three major genres of writing: fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. I focus mainly on writing fiction but have been pleased to publish work in all three genres. I am currently working on editing a novel I wrote, as well as gathering information for a memoir I hope to write in the future. During my college career, I had the chance to intern with a local literary magazine in Wilmington, North Carolina named Palaver. There, I was the layout editor for the 2022 spring edition. This internship taught me valuable skills about working in the publishing industry. I learned skills for both my writing and design career that have helped to push me to become the designer I am today.
I look forward to hopefully working with you in the future and sharing my skills!
